My family eventually got a computer and we got hooked up to the internet back when dial up was brand new (showing my age here, I know..!). I remember looking up my favourite show and learning that there were more soldiers than just Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus! I always thought it'd be cool to see Uranus, Neptune, Saturn and Pluto as soldiers and there they were! I felt even cooler knowing that I was one of the few kids in my class that actually knew about these other soldiers since they were never part of the series in North America until way later. Of course, I thought Uranus and Neptune looked so cool! So I wanted to learn as much about them as I could.
Eventually, I learned how to make my own web sites and the first site I ever made was a tribute to the series on a whole. I had pages for each character with some pictures and information and I was so proud! However, my favouritism for Uranus and Neptune led me to make a web site dedicated to just them. As time passed, I eventually gave up on my general site and focused just on Sky Coloured Oceans. That was back in 1997! I almost couldn't believe it when I sat down to figure it out, but that means Sky Coloured Oceans is about 17 years old at the time of writing this (2014).
In October 2002, I put Sky Coloured Oceans on hiatus, as I felt that nothing more could be added to the site since the manga and anime had concluded. I scaled the site down to remove a lot of content that I considered to be not unique enough at the time (every site had the same type of info back then). Over the years, I'd toyed with the idea of bringing the site back but never really bothered until 2014.
The long over-due release of the second edition manga in English and news of a new anime, Sailor Moon Crystal, inspired me to get back into working on my fan sites and breathe life back into Sky Coloured Oceans. My main goal was to provide information in such a way that it relates to the characters themselves, rather than providing a dry list of statistics and facts. It really has been a labour of love, bringing the site up to today's standards; hopefully I've succeeded in creating something both useful for reference and fun to read, even to those who have been fans of the series as long as I have.
